Harsh Agarwal started blogging out of his passion for learning and sharing. Earning was not his thought back then. Little did he know, that his life would take a turn. Harsh believes that blogging gave the platform, to the introvert in him, to be heard and to share. He could connect with the like-minded community and share his experiences and in turn, learn from them. This kept him growing. He has achieved so much through blogging that he has received “Entrepreneurship Award” from his own college, which he believes to be his biggest achievement. Harsh manages an award-winning blog known as “ShoutMeLoud”. Harsh is an engineer by education and a blogger by profession.

 What is ShoutMeLoud?

A lot of you would be aware of the SML community, a community of enthusiastic bloggers popularly known as “Shouters”. The blog shares practical tips to raise and earn money from your blog. They help you with basic money earning, living an internet lifestyle. They share tips for entrepreneurs, to increase their sales through online platforms. One of the most important factors about the blog is that they are specific to a niche, they have the variety of tips available for every kind of blog be it tech, fashion, food, lifestyle etc. And this is not all that the blog has to offer, they share the whole lot of information about “Inbound Marketing”, how to generate sales and traffic, deals and discounts, video guides, affiliate marketing handbook, WordPress E-book etc. And yes, they have application for both IOS and Android, to learn on the go. In 2013, ShoutMeLoud won a prestigious award as “Best Indian blog by Indiblogger” & that was a proud moment for him, ShoutMeLoud team & their readers. This is the same time when he started doing public speaking.

Starting Of ShoutMeLoud:

The blog was started on 1 st Dec 2008. Harsh borrowed credit card from his friend to enter this world of blogging and digital media. This turned to be the life-changing event for him. Over the years, Shout Me Loud has more than A MILLION subscribers.

What led to the popularity of the blog, you may ask?

It was not because of awards, it is because the positive impact it had created on the lives of people. ShoutMeLoud is the best community for anyone who is passionate about discovering themselves through writing and for those who have the desire to excel in this fast-changing online world. Many people think blogging is only about writing your personal story, but that’s not entirely true. Harsh Agarwal’s Personal Life: (Founder Of ShoutMeLoud)

Since childhood, he had been curious about learning new things. Computers fascinated him a lot, but he didn’t have enough money to buy a computer for himself. He started saving my pocket money (which was barely 1 rupee back then!) to get himself a computer. In 2005, he finally owned his first computer (which he assembled me), and that’s when he started learning. In 2002, he moved to New Delhi, to pursue higher education. He attended Laxman Public School and later joined Sharda University to complete his B.Tech degree in Information Technology. When he was in college, getting a good job and living the “ordinary” life was never on his mind. He wanted to do something different and be creative. He was an “ethical hacker” back then with an RHCE certification. Soon enough, all of his batch mates were getting placements, and he was feeling left out. He felt that the accumulated social engineering and tech knowledge was a waste and that he should have stuck to his books. (Fortunately, Accenture eventually proved him wrong by hiring him for his knowledge of hacking and social engineering.)

In 2008, he graduated from college and moved back to Delhi. He lived in a one-room apartment and worked for Convergys as he awaited his acceptance letter from Accenture. This is when he started his first blog to share whatever he was learning regarding technology, hacking, social engineering, etc. Back then, blogging was seen as nothing more than writing a personal diary, but he took a different route and used it as a platform for sharing knowledge. He could hardly believe it when his blog started making enough passive income that he could buy gifts for his parents, and even pay his bills! Within five months, he decided to quit his daily job and opt for blogging as a professional career.

QUES – WHAT DO YOU DO APART FROM BLOGGING?

HARSH SAYS, When I’m not on my computer, I love traveling & adventure sports. So far, I have done skydiving, scuba diving, bungee jumping & now I’m looking forward to getting scuba dive certification.
But to keep myself sane in this busy life, I love to meditate, travel & read.

On June 28th 2009, I had a terrible accident that changed my life forever. The doctors told me that I would never be able to walk again, and I nearly lost all hope and faith for a good life. Thanks to an excellent surgeon (Dr. Prateek Gupta), I ultimately was able to walk again after being bedridden for seven months. During those seven bedridden months, I worked day and night to learn as much as I could about blogging, which not only gave shape to the present, but to the future as well. Indeed, my accident is likely the reason you are here on this website reading about me now. I began to walk again in December of 2009, and I went to Pune (Maharashtra) to meet another blogger from India who was quite successful back then. We teamed up to create a new industry there, and for six months I worked as a B.D.O. with my new partner. During those six months, our company became financially independent, and I purchased my first car from my own internet earnings. My life was finally back on the right track.

QUES – HOW MUCH DO YOU EARN FROM YOUR BLOG?

HARSH SAYS, This is the most interesting part of my blogging life. If I would have gone ahead with my 9-6 job, I would be making $10-15k per year. With blogging and other online activities, I have managed to make more than $200K a year, which is thrice the amount from my job. Moreover, by the end, I’m my own boss and I work within my own comfort.  I’m sharing this part with you because I want you to take blogging seriously, and you might end up making money like you’ve never thought possible.
